To me the question is saying that he drives to the hospital and back. He has completed 10% of the return trip.

Let's say the trip is 100 miles in each direction. So, on the way home from the hospital, he has cover 10% of the trip=10miles. The entire trip is 200 miles (to the hospital and back) so he has covered 110 miles (100 miles to the hospital and 10 miles on the way back) 110/200=55%.

I got 55% as well.

I don't think there are any OA's Chris, these are questions from the GMAT he took a few days ago.

You know, I thought he was joking about these questions being from the real test. Didn't he sign an agreement not to post real questions from the test. I certainly will not complain or tell the authorities, because I find these questions very useful. :-D
