Do lines y=ax^2+b and y=cx^2+d cross?
1.a=-c
2 b>d.

is A not suff. since we get to know that the slopes are not same. and when slopes of two lines are not same, they have to intesect somewhere ...

I think we've had this problem before. Basically, these are not lines, but parablolas. A is not sufficient, becase it tells us that the parabolas are facing in opposite directions (up and down), but nothing else.

Edit: and the answer is E.

well, i felt it suspicious to have x^2 in a line...
but its still posted on the gmat club site..
so donno

lets say it was just x instead of the x^2 ...then??
