Do School Visits Give Your Application Bonus Points? [#permalink]
13 Dec 2006, 17:00
I read that UCLA Anderson Business School's application asks whether the applicant has visited the b-school campus or been to one of their events. Per their website, UCLA sees campus visits as a good sign of the applicant's genuine interest in the school.
Do other schools ask this question? And would attending a school's events or visiting the campus give you bonus points?
I would of course love to visit every school I'm interested in, but due to financial and time limitations, this may not happen.

Not directly! But u can always mention it in ur essays to indicate that you are seriously interested in the program and that you have taken the initiative to visit the school! This is particularly true if you live nearby!

From what I've heard at most schools visiting is at least good while at a few it is almost a must (and it is a must for the ones requiring on-campus interviews only).
In particular, if you reside in the US and/or reasonably close to the school, not visiting the shool is actually bad, not just neutral.
Cheers. L.

yes.
Visits = +
Put it this way - if I told you I really wanted to go live in Japan for two years but I'd never been to Japan, would you believe that I knew what I was getting myself into?

You'd have this look on your face two seconds after stepping out of JR Tokyo station.
