Hi
EMPOWERgmatRichC,
Thanks for responding and for asking these questions. Here's a bit about my preps and why i thought i needed what i asked for-
1) How long have you been studying?I have been preparing for quite some time now. Precisely 6 months. I have already appeared for GMAT once in September and score a 630 (Q44, V32). Since my 1st attempt i have been trying to rectify my mistakes, the biggest of which being Timing.
I was not able to finish either of the sections on my first GMAT. The reason was the lack of practice of more difficult question (mostly CR) that took most of the time and finally costed me ~3-4 questions at the end.
2) How have you scored on each of your practice CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?Since i knew i had to fix my timing issue more than anything i have been giving quite a few CAT's and quizzes to work on the same (
GMAT Club tests for Quant and
e-GMAT's for Verbal). The last GMAT prep CAT that i attempted was a about 2 weeks ago, and i scored 660 (Q44, V38). With the help of these CATs and the strategies provided in
MGMAT's 'GMAT Roadmap', as i see i have improved quite a bit on the timing issues. What remains now is practicing tougher official questions.
3) What resources have you been using during your studies (especially for Verbal)?I have been primarily using
e-GMAT's 'Verbal online' for my verbal preps.
Coming to my original query-
I have my next GMAT scheduled exactly one week from today (12th Nov) and the target is to hit a 720. And for the last phase of my preps im planning to rely mostly on official questions. Especially for verbal... especially for CR. While practicing difficult CR questions from different sources, sometimes i have noticed that i tend to not trust the OEs provided (mostly only because i know the questions are not official). I think that this conflict will be taken care of when i deal with known-to-be-official.
Please let me know if all this makes sense. Your inputs/suggestions will be appreciated.
-Thanks
