In either paper-based or CAT based, do you attempt the AWA section at the beginning?

Never attempted AWA in any of my practice tests.

Though read some essays on the night before the test. It kinda helped me. The structure and template was fresh along with some ideas.

By the way got 5.0 in AWA.

So take my expereince with a pinch of salt.

Like Rhyme who is probably the first to recommand it, I observed a huge difference between tests with AWA and tests without AWA. I can testify that it's important to be ready to stay focussed all time during the 4 hours of the real GMAT.

My first test attempted with AWA shows me that 1 hour of work in plus before the math section demands much more energy and perceverance. In addition, I observed a kind of 'crash' at the middle of the Verbal section, a hard obstacle that I feel to overcome better after several practices of tests with AWA.

I've taken 4 practice CATs and no AWA. I think I will incorporate it when I get closer to the day of the exam.

AWA Question [#permalink] New post 15 Sep 2006, 20:27
Does anybody have examples of good AWA essays I could look at? I haven't practiced much and would like to look at some good examples.
