Guys Plz help me here.
I'm just 1.7 yrs experienced in IT industry and currently working in Infosys Limited. Today I've got a call from HULT asking about my academics and professional details. They have given me an appointment for admission interview on may 20 for Sep-13 batch. First thing is I've not attempted GMAT once. I enrolled a slot for gmat on jun 6. My GPA in graduation was 2.9. Is it worth for me to join in HULT for Master of International Business course? Does this have any bad impact on my resume post MBA with this experience (v less I knw).
Plz suggest me guys. Waiting for some replies

P.s: I'm gettin a good GMAT score (lik around 680-740) in all trial tests. But only thing luring is Sep-13 batch, where I can apply to Aug-14 after giving my GMAT on June 6.

Hey everyone!

I am new on the forum and I read the thread above. The feedback (positive and negative) is great! I am applying to HULT for Masters in Finance at London campus ( I plan to shift to the Boston campus during the global rotation modules) and would love to get a review for the same.

Let me provide a background of my education. I am a student of B.Sc Banking and Finance from University of London International Programmes and my degree is from London School of Economics. I have also attended LSE Summer School 2012 and I hold a certificate in Securities Markets from the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Thanks in advance! :)

Didn't see this posted here, so here you go:

hultmbareview dot com

Reviews from people who have taken the MBA at Hult.

I was actually called by Hult, claiming I had showed interest in the program even though I had never heard of the school before. Anyway, I got really suspicious about the level of the program when they need to call around to get students to apply.

We at Hult Boston took a look at that website, theViking, and dismissed it. Hult is an international school, so we tried not to judge the English too harshly, but the writing showed a clear lack of effort to proofread or organize. The "facts" don't link to any relevant citations, and the complaints completely don't mesh with anything we've experienced--for instance, the staff has been clear from the very beginning that working in the US is difficult for international students, and has held workshops on the visa process already only a month into the program, leading me to believe that the students complaining that Hult "didn't warn them" just weren't paying attention.

Overall, I've been happy at Hult. The level of academics has been less than challenging for me, but I've been in the education industry for years, so I'm not typical. The culture and community is great, and I've had wonderful opportunities learning from students of all cultures. I would definitely recommend the program from what I've experienced so far.

Hult has definitely used best marketing tactics to scale up in the volume its catering now. Good faculty for sure. Career services extremely bad. Placements are so bad that a good percentage of 2012 and 2013 students are still looking for job. International jobs need Work visa and HULT has no partnerships or campus hiring relationships to assist students.
Brand HULT is surprisingly very high on few ranking list but it raises a big question in terms of How and whats going on in there.
Lots of events in big hotels at strategic locations to lure the prospective students irrespective of their capabilities. A pure number game.
Avoid HULT unless u have fortune to spend on a vacation in the name of education.

Hult has been spamming this site with fake reviews too, very unprofessional behavior for a business school.

Most of the positive reviews provided here are engineered by Hult. They care lot of their brand and to promote it they go to any extent. They create fake accounts and disguise as current or ex-students and post positive comments all over the internet. I know an ex-student who went through horrible experience within first three months of his studies at Hult-Boston campus. Not only, that they asked him to discontinue his studies at the end of first semester (in December) based on his preliminary GPA (their policy requires that you have to have minimum GPA of 2.8 to continue) even though he said that he missed some class, but he should be fine when he receives his final GPA, Dean and other officers at Hult did not listen to him. When he started arguing, they called cops and cops took him to a mental hospital in Boston where he was kept in captivity for three nights until he approached me through doctors. Hult also took full tuition amount in advance and agreed to pay only 40% back to him. Since he borrowed $36K to pay tuition, within three months he could have been in debt of $20K. When he received his final GPA which was well above minimum required to continue (he was lucky that his student account was kept active by Hult accidentally, so he printed out his final GPA online), he showed it to the Dean, but Dean or the finance deparement did not agree to either take him back or pay him 75% of tuition money (since he attended only 1/4 of the course). We finally approached Attorney General of Boston, who intervened and helped him to get his 100% back. But the experience was a nightmare. Be careful before you read positive feedbacks. I would give weightage of 100 to negative vs 1 to positive on such feedback sites.

Does anybody have any feedback on Hult? Other than rankings [#permalink] New post 01 Apr 2015, 12:37
Well, I have a different point with above. I am currently studying MBA in HULT Boston campus.
Actually I already finished my MBA in other place earlier, and I also have friends and old classmates who are studying MBA in other schools in USA. So I compared vertically and horizontally, and generally, I think this is a good school.
HULT is an independent business school, not under any big university's name, that in another way, HULT can be very flexible to fit into business education. Most professors have very rich real business experience. Some are also teaching in Harvard and MIT. They have rich examples while teaching. I really like this. Because I also experienced in my previous school that professors only have academic background and little consulting experience. That's awful.
For the placements, it's modern and convenient. For me, it's even a bit luxury! I don't see any problem with it.
For career service, I don't know how that person got the points. HULT Career Service is a big department, and really taking lots of effort to help students find jobs. They did all the details that even surprised me, including lots of workshops repeatedly on how to prepare resume, how to utilize linkedin, how to do networking, how to do interview, and also invited outside people doing mock interviews. What's more, they also arranged campus recruitment webniars. So far, I know at least Walmart and Microsoft and many famous companies joined. And lots of networking events, almost every week! The school also assigned one-on-one career service adviser to me. And my career service adviser recommended me a job!!! I believe all above workshops and mock interviews helped me so much that I passed the first interview in Boston! You know what, the company paid me to go to London for next round interview! I had a wonderful time in London and just came back to Boston.
Someone said 2013 students are still looking for a job, I believe that could be true. But I also know a lot of alumnus who found a job!! Think about it, is there any school guarantee your job after graduation? Are you yourself good enough? Other school international students don't need a working visa? It's ridiculous.

I'm a current student at Hult in San Francisco completing the Masters of International Marketing program.

I graduated from McGill in Montreal before coming here. I have high standards for what I consider a topnotch education, and after 7 or so months at Hult, I am very satisfied.

I had a very standard liberal arts education prior to Hult and Hult has taken it to the next level with real-world business skills. The program is extremely hands on, and thus, demanding. Students get what they put in here. Moreover, San Francisco is one of the most entrepreneurial cities in the world. Being here is so enriching to my educational experience.

Hult is the most international business school in the world, and so the connections and relationships I have made here will span a lifetime, and across the globe. It is truly invaluable.

The professors here are not boring PhD academics - they are successful business people and c-suite executives. They know what they're talking about.

I invested every last penny to come here and it was an investment that will pay dividends my entire life.

Hope that helps. Best of luck!

Being a current MBA student at Hult (Shanghai campus) I can share my first-hand perspective as well.

My experience has been positive overall and I can say that the quality of the education is great, the professors (many who actually also teach at Harvard) are professionals that push you to deliver your very best. The experience is very hands-on and all the time there are projects and deliverables that test your skills at different levels, not only hard or technical skills but also soft skills, which is exactly what a business school is supposed to do. You interact with people from many different countries and backgrounds, having the opportunity to learn something new each day. The program is very intense and what you get out of it mostly depends on you, as it should be.

Studying at Hult has both pros and cons as in any other school in the world but I can tell you that I am happy to have chosen Hult.

Daniel.

Literally the stupidest decision I've made in my life was deciding to go to HULT international business school.

Here's the reality:

Rather than talking of scam's, the lack of job placement etc... that are more than plentiful in most reviews of the school I will let you know what you are getting for your $60K+ that you will need to spend to attend.

Firstly the pros of which there is only one that I took away from the experience. A fun, care free time in one of there destinations on offer. You will meet new different people from around the world and you will all party outside the building and have a mostly enjoyable experience.....for about 12 months, then afterwards like a bad hangover the next day reality will rear her ugly head. The friends that you have made and the time cultivating those relationships will be for the most part for nothing as everybody goes back to there respective country inevitably as they are unable to secure work, you included and after a few years of trying to keep long distance friendships over Facebook etc the friends you made will fade away, sad but true.

Now the cons,

As much as it pains me to write this I feel it a duty now to inform any perspective candidate about what there embarking on.
Firstly Hult with regards there Masters programs will give you no, that's NO TRANSFERABLE real world skills. This is a key point, once you graduate you will be no better of than when you first graduated from your undergrad degree when applying for jobs.
Do not believe that you will learn any accounting, finance, etc, hard skills. What they will do is give you a description of what the general over view of these processes but nothing that you couldn't get from attending a 1-2 hr seminar on these topics.

For example: There accounting module during Module B over a 4 week period for aprox 5hrs per week, is quite honestly a joke and believe me when I say all it focuses on is mapping figures to a balance sheet and then mapping the P&L(pen and paper school stuff). When it comes to the real world you will be laughed at if you say to a potential employer that you understand the accounting process and they ask you to explain what you know. They don't touch on analysis, reconciliation's, budgets, forecasts. You will certainly have absolutely no idea of real accounting and this goes for all the other number based subjects that they offer. They name the module International Accounting, why? there seems to be no logic other than it sounds more specialised trust me its not.

At the end of the day you should ask yourself firstly what do I want and what are my expectations. If you want a care free life for 12 months, live in a different country and meet new people and spend $60K+ doing so go ahead go to HULT. If your expectation is that by going to HULT you will obtain a good credential on your CV, a great network of contacts, real world skills, be in more demand from employers by having this masters then do your future self a favour and use that money on YOU! Invest in yourself by entering yourself in bootcamps where you learn new technology's or take a certified professional course eg (CFA, CIMA) BUILD YOUR SKILLS! (whether you like it or not you will need to up skill regardless) Or have enough to fund your own business for a number of years if you already have a unique skill you can leverage.

Look at what you stand to gain and the opportunity's you are throwing away.
