Does club membership help? [#permalink] New post 26 Oct 2007, 01:46
I'm based out of India and looking to join the student clubs on general management or consulting. Could you tell me the following?

Will it help (both MBA application and otherwise) and if yes, in what way?
Which schools have best clubs to join on general management or consulting?

technator,

Not sure I follow you. You are still at university and intend to join your undergraduate university's general management or consulting clubs? It will help you by (a) showing you are the kind of guy who gets involved, (b) you have pursued your passion for general management or consulting outside of the classroom, and (c) you have shown leadership, which all B-schools value, if you do indeed gain a leadership role in your club.

Almost all B-schools have management or consulting clubs because these are the two most common MBA tracks. You can be confident that the top-ranked B-schools have outstanding clubs in both subject areas, but I can't mention any specific programs' clubs off the top of my head.
