Does GMAT score compensate poor academic performance???? [#permalink] New post 30 Mar 2012, 20:41
hi

Does GMAT score compensate poor academic performance???? By poor academic performance i do not mean the cgpa of my bachelor program. well i got 3.11(out of 4) in my bachelor but the problem is i had to retake many courses over and over. Its because i enrolled for the courses but didnt take part in any of the exams. Strange!!! yes, but i did it in few semesters and it is in my grade sheet. So, all i want to know is that, if i take the gmat, which i will very soon, and get to manage my score above 650 then what? Will it compensate my poor academic performance, if i apply in any north American b-school???

appreciate any help...........thanks

The GMAT SCORE (not the test itself, as you wrote) is only one of the elements that are considered when you apply to B-School.
Having high GMAT score doesn't mean that the admission will not look into your bachelor degree scripts, and vice verse. Nevertheless, if you feel that your GPA is low, aim to a high score on your GMAT, to show that you do have the necessary quantitative and logical skills.
