Does Kaplan have a stake in mbamission ?

Does Kaplan have a stake in mbamission ? [#permalink] New post 27 Jun 2012, 08:00
I was going through Kaplan's website and came across mbamission and realized that Kaplan recommends mbamission. Also manhattangmat recommends mbamission too . That may possible be because Manhattangmat is owned by Kaplan so both will recommend the same thing. Does Kaplan has any private stake in mbamission ? Fair that mbamission maybe good but why would Kaplan recommend only mbamission ? Why not StacyBlackman or accepted.com ? Just curious so thought that I'd ask here only

That’s a fair question!

Several years ago, ManhattanGMAT (MGMAT) actually recommended a handful of consulting firms, and Kaplan had its own internal consulting arm. MGMAT and Kaplan both independently came to appreciate mbaMission’s model of full-time dedicated consultants who know each other well and therefore form a tight knit team (virtually all admissions consulting firms are staffed by part-timers whose main energies lie in their other full-time positions). Because we are full time, we make clients our priority, and can share resources, reach out to each other for second opinions and bounce questions and ideas off of each other. Quite simply, our model and structure combine to let us deliver a level of quality that both MGMAT and Kaplan have chosen to be affiliated with exclusively.
