does MBA not from top b-school matter?

hi thr,
i have done my MBA with dual specialization of finance and marketing. it is not from the top B-school

. i wish to do my PhD in corporate strategy from a top 50 b-school. do i have chances ?
what score should i focus for my GMAT.

Your GMAT needs to be as high as possible. I don't think you'll stand at too big of a disadvantage just because you didn't go to a top b-school. Given what you wrote, it'll be hard to know whether you're 'qualified', but as far as the adcoms are concerned, GMAT is one key indicator of getting an interview/acceptance.

I'm attending a top business school for my Ph.D. this fall, and a lot of the students there didn't even have an MBA (or any postgraduate degree). Don't think a less-then-top MBA will hurt you in anyway--if anything, it just won't make a difference.

And don't "shoot" for a certain score. The higher the better. If you can get an 800, get it.
