Does my score report make sense? [#permalink] New post 18 Jan 2007, 16:50
Hi all,

I took the GMAT and scored 620 - so I will be retaking it again. The score report does not make sense to me - maybe someone can explain.

Quant: Scaled score = 39. Percentile = 58.
Verbal: Scaled score = 36. Percentile = 80.
Total: 620. Percentile: 76.

How come my quantitative scaled score is higher than the verbal scaled score but the quantitative percentile is less than the verbal percentile.

Can anyone explain this?

Thank all.

Essentially, more test takers do better in the math section. This drives up the percentages and makes it "tougher" to score near the top.
