I am not applying to b-school this season but I am tempted to do so within the next few years (before my GMAT expires). Currently I don't think my package is appealing enough to gain admission into the elite schools, so I was wondering: does re-applying hurt your chances? That is, if I do choose to apply this season or the next, before I think I have a real shot at admission, will it hurt my chances at entering a few years down the road when I assemble credentials I'll be confident in?
More succinctly: does it hurt your future chances to apply "for the heck of it" or "just to see what happens"?
