Another satisfied lurker and minimal poster here 8-)

Took it today - 720 [95%] - Q48, V41 - UPDATE 6.0 AWA

Tough, tough test and day all around. Harder than really every practice I took, including both GMATPreps. Think I made some early quant mistakes but caught up in the middle. Not as many number props as expected, no probability, no mixtures, very little geometry. Verbal was tough to gauge - RC manageable but SC and CR very tough.

Nonetheless, just threw my books in the garbage and onto those essays finally!

For those still plugging away, here is some info on my prep:

Study time: 8 weeks.
Books:
1) OG 11 and OG Quant - its been said before - most representative, most important. I will say that one should make sure to do sets of these questions in 20 or 30 minute intervals to get timing down. I found the final page DS number property questions to be harder than the actual test.

2) Kaplan Premier and Course Book - i took the classroom course. I recommend it for those scoring in low 600s and looking to try and crack 700. If you are a quant master or already up in the 7s, don't bother.

3) GMATClub - found these boards very helpful in getting over the 700 hump. Especially the verbal SC explanations and the probability stuff.

Practice tests:
GMATPrep 1 - 770, GMATPrep 2 - 750 (found these much easier than the actual - granted i wasnt in my room in boxer shorts taking the actual but nonetheless i thought there was a significant difference)

Kaplan Classroom CATs: 670, 670, 680, 700, 710, 720, 720, 760, 790 (dunno what happened- must have had someone else's brain that day)

All in all, a challenging experience and a sense of accomplishment. Now, time to start thinking why Tuck, CBS, Wharton? :?:

Best of luck to all of you.

In the long run, I'd say that if you are a smart, dedicated person with good test taking skills and an ability to pick things up solo without lectures et al, Kaplan is a total waste.

If one needs constant instruction, is not good at self-learning, etc., than it is a good option.
