Done with GRE and need help [#permalink] New post 01 Aug 2010, 20:34
Hi Folks,
I am actually a GMAT aspirant,I couldnt make it in GMAT.got just 560 and that was my second attempt.
I took GRE as a backup.I am done with my GRE with a very low score in Verbal. I didnt study 1 single word from Barrons, I just studied quant for GMATand got a very nice score in it.

Quant - 790
Verbal -270

I am targetting MS Finance. Can you please help me targetting schools? I know with this score it is difficult to get into Top schools, However I am sure I can get admit in a good school.

I am having 4.5 years of experience in IT and I am currently working in USA from past 3 years, will that waive off my verbal?. I want to do MS full time.

Please guys, let me know which schools I can target with this score. I have to join a school this year. I have already wasted lots of years in GMAT and because of that I never paid attention to my professional life. There is no growth in my present work. I am at same level as a fresh joinee.

Thanks for reading. Please reply and help this friend.

Thanks

Well some schools look only at the quant part of the gre, therefore your score is really good. Try to find out which schools only look at the quant part!!

Your Verbal would automatically disqualify you. Did you freak out during the test? It's strange to have such low score in verbal and such a huge one in quant.

If you are in Chicago and want to stay there I would look at DePaul, UIUC, Purdue.Give admissions a call and ask if they will take the GRE. Some don't advertise it because the GMAC bullies schools into accepting the GMAT. PM me if you want to talk more.
