I often fail on these simple type of questions... simply adding values does not work for me... Can anybody show a clear principle, how to efficiently solve these type of questions:

Is the integer n a multiple of 140

1) n is a multiple of 10
2) n is a multiple of 14

Is the integer n a multiple of 140

1) n is a multiple of 10
2) n is a multiple of 14

rephrase

is n = 140k

from one

n= 10z.....insuff

from two

n = 14 r....insuff

both together

n has 2,7,5 ( eg n = 2*7 r and r is a multiple of 5 and or n = 2*5 z and z is a multiple of 7 )

so all we know that 2,5,7 are among the prime factors of n ie = 70L......INSUFF

MY ANSWER IS E

LCM of 10 & 14

10 - 2,5
14 - 2,7

2*5*7 = 70

so no INSUFF

Ok clearer now...

so if the question would ask is n a multiple of 12

1)n is a multiple of 4
2)n is a multiple of 3

this would be C, right?
