In Triangle ABC above, what is the length of side BC?

(1) Line Segment AD has length 6
(2) x = 36

I will go for E.

As per the diagram, BDC is an isosceles triangle. However, it is not known what ABD is.

I beleive angle BAD is x, which is missing in the diagram.

In that case.. answer would be A.

Yeah, we are missing a crucial element of the question here.

Agree with the above ( A ... if angle BAD is x)

Sorry, i t should be in the green book. OG Quantitative Review. page no. is correct.

thanks, just wasted 10 minutes trying this problem, and another 2 minutes looking for it in the wrong references

Yes, this question definately needs some more info..either bad or abd should be X

if BAD = X, then how is the answer A?

say ABD=y

x+y+180-2x=180
--> x=y = ABD

So ABD isosceles triangle
BDC is isoceles triangle..
so BD=BC=6

SUFFICIENT.
