1) What affect would a DUI conviction over 5 years ago that has since been expunged (it will still show up on background check as an initial guilty plea and ensuing dismissal) have on my application chances?

2) Should I offer this information on applications that do not explicitly ask for the information?

Very little affect, if any. I would not offer this information unless asked. A B-school application is different in this regard than a law school application.
