At least your counselor was upfront, I was given the run around!

He was vague ---- He didn't really give much advice other than to say that I should continue to provide updates, but that all admissions are dependent on an admitted student dropping out of the program (which I already knew)

Well Guys, it's mid-June, so obviously we shouldn't expect a big movement - this holds true for any school, not just Duke. At this moment all deposits deadlines have passed, and schools have their classes at full strength.

Took myself off the WL this morning as I'm heading to Ross. Good luck to the rest of you still waiting.

Good Luck with Ross. It's an equally amazing school, and I am sure you will enjoy your stay in Ann Arbor.

for you people planning to reapply, are you at all concerned about putting out a fresh 25 random facts? I was just thinking about it and that blew my mind...felt like mine were awesome, but I had to dig really deep

My counselor said that if you reapply, you will probably not have to redo that essay.

Does anyone know of anyone admitted in the last couple of weeks? I was told last week by my Couselor that quite a few Admits have indicated they will not be attending Fuqua but he wouldn't say if anyone on the Waitlist has been extended an invitation to fill the vacant spots, or when that will be happening. This is so frustrating...

Not to add to anyone's frustration or anxiousness, but our tuition/next payment isn't due till sometime in july (still don't even know the actual date) so there is a possibility that students who have already paid their initial deposit to a few schools could STILL be deciding. I just met a student who had paid her deposit to two schools in feb and was still figuring it out.

Though I don't mean to get anyone's hopes up...just wanted to let you know for full transparency. Though I am just a normal student so I am sure the counselors know best.

My counselor made a comment that schools over book knowing that some people will decline, so just because someone declined doesn't mean that he/she needs to be replaced.

My counselor confirmed that they have not extended any invitations to WL-ers since 3rd round.

Just wondering, but how many emails have you guys exchanged with your counselor? Is there an optimal number? I want to make a strong connection, but don't want to try to become buddy-buddy and not keep it professional.

That, I think, should depend on how much information you wish to update the adcom with. I explained this frustration to my counselor and he said that a phone call/email was sufficient every other week (2 weeks) - every 3 weeks. I'm more concerned with not having enough info to share with them, should I have a notable life event every 2 weeks? As far as I'm concerned everything that was worth knowing was in my original application!

lol. I thought I was very cool with my WL Counselor, but you are way ahead. even beers?

But, in all honesty, I have talked to mine twice over the phone and exchanged about three emails. I noticed onething that if you call him, he is willing to share more information.
