It is always a relief, to see Bunuel explanation confirming that you are right, after seeing the repugnant red collor after pushing the answer button.

so no answer for this one?
can someone give a similar question so i can c if i know how to solve it?

thanks.

The official answer is 1/2, but all members, including me, are getting the answer as 1/8. I will send an email to Bell Curves to see how they justify their explanation. So I guess we'll have to wait till then.

This question is more like fractions/ percentages than probability really. To see similar problems, you can check out problems on successive change in percentages type questions. A similar but not exactly same example:

Q: The population of a town increased by 10% in 2000 and by another 10% in 2001. What is the total percentage change in the population?

There are plenty such problems in this forum as well as prep books such as OG and Kaplan.
