Effectiveness of Professional Essay/Application edit/review [#permalink] New post 14 Jan 2005, 08:02
How effective is to get the essay/other application material edited/reviewed by professional services such as accepted.com etc?

Also, are there any cases where a person with a good profile was dinged by top school(s) and on re-application (or new application for some other top schools) was accepted because he got his material reviewed by such services!

For the most part, these companies do know their stuff. Can they guarantee admission? No. Can they turn a bad applicant into a good one? No.

Many applicants can probably develop very competitive without using these services. You also have to be careful that the application truly represents you. If the application sounds doctored, it's a sure way to get dinged.
