Either Perry’s faction or Tucker’s faction, but not both, will win control of the government. If Perry’s faction wins, the nation will suffer economically. If Tucker’s faction wins, the nation will suffer militarily.
Given the statements in the passage, which one of the following statements must be true?

(B) If the nation suffers economically, it is certain that Perry’s faction has won control of the government.

I will go with ‘D’
Statement 1: Either P’s faction or T’s faction will win.
Statement 2: If P’ faction wins => nation will suffer economically.
Statement 3: If T’ faction wins => nation will suffer militarily.
A – False, because one of the them has to win and when one of them wins the nation will either suffer economically or militarily.
B – Not necessarily true, Statement 3 does not mention this
C – False, both can happen
E – False. From Statement 1
