Eligibility for one year program at Kellogg [#permalink] New post 10 Jul 2013, 21:43
Hi Linda,

I have two queries regarding one year MBA program at Kellogg
1. As per their eligibility criteria, they require completion of some core courses before you apply. Does it mean it is conducive for only those who have those core courses (finance, marketing, strategy, etc) in their undergrad degrees ? If yes, then is it kind of doors shut for an engineering grad with decent 8-10 years of work exp behind him.

2. How many US one year such programs who have similar restriction of having some core courses certification/ or business subjects in undergrad ? (From the elite list of lets say Kellogg, USC marshall, cornell, emory, notre dame etc)
Thanks,
Rajan

Rajan,

There are just a few one-year full-time MBA programs in the US. And they aim at different niches. As you note Kellogg is for those with an undergrad background in business or those who took those classes after college. But they do require that participants have that kind of background. Cornell's accelerated program is for people with advanced degrees in technical fields -- ie. people who do NOT have a business background. Columbia's accelerated program is for people who do not need an internship -- those returning to their own business, a family business or simply moving up at their existing employer.

So it varies.

Those are the three leading one-year programs in the U.S..

Best,
Linda
