Hi,
I have been working in a research firm for the last 1 and a half years. Due to administrative issues, my firm (lets call it 'X') could not register its practices for the first 1 year. During this time, I was 'technically' employed at a sister firm (say 'Y') (the firm I work in is part of a major global marketing group) which handled all of my payrolls and admin requirements, though I worked for 'X'. Obviously, in my resume and my essays, I am going to mention that I have been working in X for past 1 and a half years - but what am I going to do when they ask for a proof of employment? Will talking to the firm's VP help? He will vouch for my being worked for X for 1 and a half years. And he says he will even write in an official letterhead that during the first 1 year that I 'was working on behalf of X' for the first 1 year though I was technically an employee of 'Y'! Will this suffice? Or will I lose my 1 year of work - ex?
Thanks in anticipation.
