Employment History and Stern Essay Questions [#permalink]
24 Sep 2004, 08:41
When an applicant describes there employment history to a school, a part of this description usually includes the applicant's responsibilities. Can these responsibilities be exactly the same text as an applicant's resume? Are schools looking for anything additional? Are they expecting applicant's to rephrase the text?
For Stern's essay questions, the school specifies 2 pages double spaced? Would you know if there is a standard for the margins they are expecting? Should it be 1 inch all around or 1inch top/bottom 1.25 inch left/right?
Thanks always for the useful feedback.

Hi,
I would avoid repeating the text of the resume since this squanders a valuable chance to communicate additional information to the admissions officers.
Without explicit guidelines, a reasonable page setup should be considered compliant. I would consider 1 inch all around or 1.25 left-right, 1.00 top-bottom defensible choices.

I too was stuck on this one and went 1in. all around to get some extra space. What feels odd to me is indenting each paragraph rather than putting a space in between paragraphs. It simply kills too much space to do the latter though that is more prevelant in the workplace. The double spacing sems odd too but it almost seems like 500 words is equal to 2 pages double spaced
