Is triangle ABC equilateral?

a) AB = 1
b) BC + AC = 2

IMO E.

AB = 1, BC = 0.75 and AC = 1.25 will be a valid triangle but not equilateral.
AB = 1, BC = 1 and AC = 1 will also be a valid triangle and equilateral.

Can you please explain E is the ans.

I think the ans is C because we can say that the triangle is equilateral with each side being 1. If the lengths of each side is not 1, then we cannot have a triangle.

In the first example given by hgp2k...we have a possibility with sides 1, 0.75,1.25....each side is less than the sum of other two sides...and the difference between any two sides is less than the third side. So this is a valid triangle.
