Essay and optional personal statement help! [#permalink]

I am not applying to top MBA schools but I would like the advice of those who are. I am applying to a masters program in accounting at several schools. The essay topic is the same for all of them: Why did I choose a career in Accounting? I have no idea where I am supposed to go with this. The real reason is that it's easy for me and it makes money. Bad I know... I do have an internship with a Big 4 firm starting in January. I like the analytical side of it and I like the challenge. I get bored easily. I am in audit so different clients help with that.
There is also an optional 2 page personal statement that is supposed to be anything I want the committee to know. Should I include this? What kind of information should I put? What information about me would help persuade the committee to admit me/give me funding/waive out of state tuition?
The schools I'm applying to are very selective in giving out assistantships or out of state waivers. How can I make myself stand out and increase my chances?

you should focus on why you like it, what your goals are and how school x can get you there. As for the optional essay, what would you put in it? I'm not exactly sure what MS schools look for....maybe some hardships _________________
