essay - conviction

Hello all - I'm in the midst of my essays, and am up against a severe writer's block.
The question is basically, describe a time when you stood up for something that you believed in, even though everybody else disagreed.
Most of my professional experiences in this area are minor and not very compelling (e.g., my boss wanted me to do an analysis one way, but I convinced him it should be done another way). The other option seems to be to discuss an ethical dilemma, but most of my ethical dilemmas did not involve others having an opposing view.
I know this is pretty open-ended, but any thoughts are highly appreciated to get me past this block.
Thanks again.
