Essay question:Example of a good leader [#permalink] New post 12 Oct 2004, 14:49
Iam applying to the Indian School of Business(ISB) and other Asian schools.

One of the essays
"How do you define leadership ? Take the example of a leader you admire (living or deceased), and indicate the traits you like. "

Iam ok with the first half of the question (definition of leadership). But I was wondering if I could name a sportsperson as an example of a leader that I like.

Applying to a B school, and naming a sports person as an example of a leader, does it show my immaturity  ?Please comment

For most schools the key to answering a question like that is not whom you pick, but why you choose that person and how you emulate him or her. Choosing an athlete is not a problem as long as you can provide good reasons, have a genuine interest in the sport, and can show this person's influence or how you identify with this role model.

Good luck!

Thanks Linda. It gives me more confidence now.
I'll go ahead and write about the sportsperson whose leadership qualities I like the most.
