Evaluate My Profile Please!! [#permalink] New post 27 Oct 2009, 15:43
Hi,

I am hoping to apply to European schools. LBS, Oxford and Cambridge.

University: Trinity College Dublin, B.A. (Mod) Computer Science, 2.1

GMAT: 650 +

Me: Male (Irish), age 28.

Work Experience.

Internships: Awarded internships through open competition at Trinity College Dublin (Computer Science Department) and in the Irish Governments Department of Finance.
2 Years : Accenture Graduate Program, Consultant
3 Yeas: Merrill Lynch, Equity Sales and Trading Technology.

Entrepreneurial & Extra Curricular.

2 online businesses in development. I have been working on these for over a year. In my teenage years I ran a paper round, phone card and fishing tackle businesses. All made money (not sure if these are worth mentioning). Spent University summers on working visas in San Diego and Vancouver. Active in fund raising and charity events over the years. I am an active member of my local athletics club and run frequent races and marathons. I play for my firms rugby team.

Post MBA

Continue with entrepreneurial ventures
Work on an Equity Sales and Trading desk as a broker, trader or analyst.

Cheers,

Absolutely you can reapply. In fact at virtually all b-schools, a significant minority (anywhere from 10 - 20% of the class) were reapplicants.

Your chances will be dictated by your GMAT score. If it's closer to 700, you should be competitive for the schools you mentioned. The closer it is to 650 or below, the more these schools will be a stretch (i.e. your profile is solid to strong, but chances are not strong or unique enough to overcome a below average GMAT score - again, you still have a shot at getting in to schools like Oxford/Cambridge with a 650, but your GMAT becomes a handicap).

Yep I agree. My GMAT is too weak for LBS. I would be delighted with Oxbridge though.
I'll give it a shot. If Oxbridge come back and say "yes with a better GMAT" can I reapply the following year? Or do you only get one shot?
