Is an even number always integer ?

In one of the DS question I have noticed that X is mentioned as even number.

And then all argument starts with X is even but It may or may not be an integer.

I think an even number is always integer whether it is mentioned explicitly.

Yes, you are right: only integers can be even or odd.

An even number is an integer that is "evenly divisible" by 2, i.e., divisible by 2 without a remainder.
An even number is an integer of the form $$n=2k$$, where $$k$$ is an integer.

An odd number is an integer that is not evenly divisible by 2.
An odd number is an integer of the form $$n=2k+1$$, where $$k$$ is an integer.
