Even though art need not have an intellectual appeal, neither is it something that immediately can be appreciated without previous experences that have deepened one's capacity for appreciation. So it follows that to get full enjoyment from art, people must commit considerable time and effort to developing their ability to observe and understand art.

The point of the argument in the above paragraph is that
A) the enjoyment of art has little to do with the intellect
B) viewing art does not always result in an increase of a person's appreciation
C) art has a universal appeal
D) the ability to enjoy art often requires preparation
E) art that is enjoyed usually deepens a person's capacity for appreciation

This is kind of a circular argument. I like (D)

I also think it's D.

It follows from the paragraph:

To enjoy -> must have a capacity to appreciate

To develop capacity to appreciate -> commit time and effort to developing ability to observe and understand

To commit time and effort to learning smth = preparation

Therefore, to enjoy more fully -> must prepare thoroughly

the answer is D

E is wrong b/c "neither is it something that immediately can be appreciated without previous experences that have deepened one's capacity for appreciation"

previous experiences --> deepen one's capacity for appreciation ---> now art can be immediately appreciated

E) art that is enjoyed usually deepens a person's capacity for appreciation

E says: art that's enjoyed --> deepens one's capacity for appreciation
cause and effect is mixed in choice E
