I thought I performed reasonably well on the first GMAT and that I would get a 700. The result was a shocker. None the less, I took another appointment after 45 days and studied verbal rigorously.
Quant was always a breeze for me.My previous mock test scores were all above 700 with a least quant score of 49. But in my second attempt Math section was very frustrating. I could see that most of the questions were from my weak areas - Modulus, Inequalities,Probability, Combinatrics and very tough geometry. I got very few from my stronger areas : Time and Work, Time and Distance, SI/CI, Mixtures, Profit and Loss,Fractions and Number properties.
I knew I performed badly but the last time I performed badly I got a 49 on Quant. I got a 38 in V and a total of 680. I'm shattered to say the least
I dont know what to do next.
These are the schools I wanted to join -
1)Kelley
2)Emory
3)Vanderbilt
4) SDA Bacconi
5) Fisher
My 680 is above the median score in Fisher but I am from that over represented Indian male software engineer group. I have 2 years of work ex and am the founder member of a green NGO.
So I dont know if I should accept my score and apply in R1 or book a date for GMAT a month from now and apply in R2.
Can I apply now with my present score and update the university my next gmat score in the hope of a scholarship? (I am thinking Fisher)
What is the difference in applying with a 680 in R1 and a 680 in R2 ?
What are the other schools in this score range for Marketing and which schools would accept me with some financial aid atleast ?
Should I give it one last try (third attempt) to try and crack the 700 barrier before R2 deadlines. Will that give me a aid at Fisher atleast ?
Also , I am planning to quit my job I have a work ex of 22 months until today but a few of my friends are suggesting to wait till I complete 24 months.
Are two months to make it 24 such a big deal ?
Would my application sound better if I say I am working rather than I have worked for 22 months?
