EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED [#permalink] New post 17 Dec 2004, 20:50

I got a score of 530 yesterday and it was a great frustration to me......

I finished the PR class (done all exercises), 2-CD of PR (different versions), OG, Kaplan 2005 CD, Kaplan Verbal, PP. I got 630- 700 from those which were sufficient for me to apply for the local MBA courses. However, eventually I got a poor score..... I was SHOOK when I see my score...... Q44 V20...  I know that I am a non-native speaker so that I will have problem on the verbal part but..... the score indicates that a wild guess may be better than my judgment.... oh..... :(

Actually, I really felt that I might need to retake the test again during the test as in the first 10-15 questions coming up on the screen were very difficult!!! They are the questions which I expected to show up in later stage! "Oh my God, how come those difficult questions will come up at the beginning???" That's what coming up in my mind yesterday..... I think there is a big gap in difficulty between the practice test questions and the real test questions......

Ai.....The deadline for Fall 2005 application for local universities was on Jan 31...... So... I only have ONE chance remaining in the mid-Jan. When I stepped out from the test center, I felt frustrated and had no directions..... coz I don't know what should I do to prepare..... Could anyone please advise me how to get practice on the verbal part, especially on the harder questions :?: For RC and CR, I planned to search for some LSAT questions...... is that a good strategy??

Please help!! Thanks!!

Hi hcgmat, sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. If you are looking for LSAT material, I would strongly suggest you the ARCO LSAT book which I used. Apparently, the Official LSAT guide is also good but I did not use it. You may ask Praetorian, site administrator, about it. Do not despair because it is definitely possible to increase your score from 500's to 700's as in the link given by questor. Here is another link: http://www.gmatclub.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3313
Remember to also read the sticky by "crackgmat750" labelled as "end of an era": It will give you the confidence boost which you will need for undertaking the test again. Good luck.

Paul

Can I ask for the full name of the ARCO LSAT book or Official LSAT book? as I find some similar titles for those two items. Thanks

Here is the link to the Official LSAT Superprep. this is the one with complete explanations. would recommend this to anyone having problems with CR and RC.

Official LSAT Superprep - Has 3 tests fully explained
Your next step would be to get this book:

This one doesnt have explanations, only alphabet answers. I would definitely recommend this one.
