Hi Alex,

Could you please help me to evaluate my profile below?

I am 25 years old, a Vietnamese female and is currently living in Singapore.

My target schools:
Wharton,Cornell, Duke, Oxford, Rice, Austin

1) Brief description of your full-time work experience.
I have been working for a US bank since graduation and will have 4 years of work experience by matriculation in 2012 if successful. So far i have been working with the Sales Trading Technology team as Application Analyst to support and develop the technology framework being used by Sales and Trading business of the bank. My performance review during the last 2 years are ranked consecutively Excellent and i am currently admitted into Leadership Accelerated program for the 2nd year. I was promoted to Senior position last year.

I am not managing any one in the team yet but i seeked Leadership in different perspectives like mentoring other juniors.

2) Your GMAT.

GMAT score 690 (Quant:49, Verbal: 35). I just finished the exam and was wondering if this score is ok to apply to schools like. My concern is that if i retake GMAT, i may miss round 1 deadline. Please please advise me about this.

3) College info: The name of the college, your GPA or grade average, your major, year of graduation. For any graduate degrees, please provide the same info. If you grades are low, please indicate if there were extenuating circumstances.

National University of Singapore, 2.96 Cumulative GPA
Major in Computer Science
Class 2008.

In terms of postgraduate education, I am currently a Level 1 Candidate in the CFA Program.

4) Significant college and post-college extra-curricular activities or community service, especially leadership experience.

In freshman and sophomore year, i joined Computing club as member . I also joined Science based Learning centre, specifically Training Committee to organize Flash, DreamWeaver and Photoshop courses for students. I was also the instructor for Dreamweaver courses.

In my third year, I was a member of Executive Committee of the Environmental student organization to advocate environmental awareness, promote activism and initiating impactful environmental programmes in the university campus. I was the project director for one key project to raise awareness for Recycling in NUS campus.

In the same year, i won Exchange scholarship to go to Germany for Exchange programme for 1 semester.

I am current a Toastmaster, being an Exco of the current club i am joining.
Since graduation, I have been more involved with various activities in my company. Most active in Diversity initiatives.

5) Important certifications like CFA, CPA, FSA, or CA.

6/Reason for MBA
I want to go for Consulting and would like to build up the Business knowledge as well as other Business knowledge.

Sounds like you know where you stand given the range of schools you've listed (Wharton - stretch; Cornell, Duke, Oxford - sweet spot; Rice, Austin - safety).

Given the range of schools, I wouldn't retake the GMAT - shoot for Round 1 (Wharton is a stretch for you regardless of GMAT score, so you might as well shoot for R1 rather than wait).
