I've read many articles on how the MBA program somewhat works against women because most require 2-5 years experience. Meaning a woman would be near/in her 30s (which is a popular time to start a family). I do not plan on it, but you never know what your future will be and nearly every female over 30 told me DO YOUR MBA NOW. It's hard to work full time, go to school, and take care of a family/husband (they tell me.)
However, I have no full time work experience and small random part-time jobs: volunteer (computer assistance/webdesign), I had my own cooking business (during high school/college for extra $), and a temporary Advertising Sales Rep job (1 semester long). I did study abroad for a semester as well. Other then that no experience.
I have a 3.95 gpa currently (based on the fact that I study ALL the time instead of working 20 hours a week while I go to school). I'm HORRIBLE at big tests (ACT/GMAT) so I'm not going to do as well as my GPA may lead people to believe. I go to a normal state school and their MBA program does not require any work experience.
Should I go to the job market and work for two years then go after my MBA (hope nothing gets in my way and pay for it myself)? Or go ahead and do it now at my state school (since it will be free and I have no obligations)?
