(C) lesser than two hundred and fewer
(D) fewer than two hundred and less
(E) of fewer than two hundred and of fewer
In this question population and breeding females both are countable nouns so how to go about this question ....can anyone plz explain ...

I believe A is right.

Population of less than 100 - correct usage
Fewer than 100 people - correct usage

You cannot always apply the countable vs fewer and
non countable vs less than

A is right. The total population here is a statistical figure and is used with "less." "Females" is a regular count noun, used in plural. Therefore, it should go with "fewer."
In general, when introducing statistical data, use "less."
