IMO E.

30% Magazine Subscribers under age 35 ordered merchandise seeing the Ad while total percentage of order received under 35 years who saw the AD was more than 50% which means that many people under under the age of 35 who are not subscriber ordered merchandise.

IMO: E
Percentage of subscriber and non-subscribers make it difficult to analyze this question. Its Venn diagram problem.

Call people below age 35 are youth guys and people above 35 as old guys.

Considering, 100 people in the area put the merchandize orders.
In first case, X subscribers are surveyed ( 0<X<100).
30 % of X are youth ( call it 'l')
70% of X are old

In second case, all 100 are surveyed.
Most of them are youth who put the orders. i.e. more than 50 people(min=50, max=100) are youth. ( call this number 'm')

Comparing case I & II, Among the youth putting orders, there must be those who who have not subscribed.

For example,
m =50,
l <=30
m-l= 20 ( its minimum value)

Answers:
A) Overall more than 50% are youth. So, Less people are above 35%.
B) It is not comparing between last year and this year.
C) More people with below age 35 have ordered.
D) Dollar value is not mentioned anywhere.
E) This generalization is correct.
