First Choice School Open House [#permalink] New post 18 Jan 2010, 19:25
My first choice school is holding an open house next month. I am extremely interested in attending however my recent practice GMAT scores are well below their average.

Pros: I know attending the open house will give me a good feel for the school and I could use this experience in my essays and interview.

Cons: My main concern is I never achieve a competitive GMAT score and this becomes a wasted trip, on top of that the school is 850 miles away and I will need to fly and get a hotel. Finally the school has another open house in November, but this will be past their second deadline and I intend on applying during the first or second.

I am open to any suggestions or ideas since I am unsure whether I should attend.

Thanks,
Brian

Yes, it costs some money, but if you really want to go to that school - you probably should make the effort. Yes, there may be a possibility of a wasted trip, but it's no different than going out for dinner with a date that may or may not work out.
