Hi everyone,
First of all, let me introduce myself. I'm Jenna and like the title says, I earned a whopping 480 (32Q, 24V) the first time I took the GMAT, which was about one week ago. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with the score. I've always been a decent test taker, but I guess being away from school for a while has not helped. Also, I was a liberal arts major (I'm currently a high school French/Spanish teacher, looking to get out of education FOR GOOD!) so I think I maybe had one or two math classes throughout my college career. I need some definite help!
My goal is to gain admittance to UT McCombs for the fall of '09 and in order to be competetive I need to raise my score, oh, about 200 points! Is this even possible?
I would like to apply for the first round which gives me about six months.
I've been lurking here for about a week and I've read some great things. But I have some specific questions:
1. As a person who does well in the classroom setting, would any of you recommend a prep course? I'm considering Kaplan...
2. I also am pretty obsessive about organizing study schedules, materials, etc. I would love to see an example of someone's plan of attack,
error log, flash cards, anything! (I suppose this isn't a question...)
3. From what I have read here, the
OG 11th edition is highly recommended as well as some others. Everything is so weak for me. What are some other recommendations?
I better stop now as I tend to ramble!
Thanks for your time and advice. I really appreciate it!
Jenna
