In a certain pond, scientists caught a number of 80 goldfish and labeled them, then let tem off. At the second time, they caught 80 goldfish at random, and found that five of them were labeled. IF the goldfish state in the pond is constant, what is the total number of goldfish?

5/80=80/x

it means ...

the % of labelled fish in the second catch = % of labelled in the first catch

I beleive this line was missing .....!

so 5/80 = 80/x

x = total no of fish in the pound
which is = 1280
