(E) changes the meaning of original question---> definitely out
"professed" is an adjective which supports "disdain"; C and D break that function of " professed" ----> out.
Between A and B, A is more concise.

Is it talking about WH. Auden???? :shock: ....A hypocrite?!!!! :x I too admire his poem " After reading a guide book to Modern Physics for children" ( the title is too long to recall verbatim :oops: )
