I think the question should be stated as: For any number y, y* is defined as the greatest integer less than or equal to y. What is the value of 5.2-5.2*?
the use of the word number is unappropriate because it could mean any real number. Answer should thus be 5.2 - 5.0 = 0.2

greatest possible even integer less than or equal to 5.2 should be 4. right.
5.2-4=1.2

haha..it is 1.2 (5.2-4)

I missed the point on the number being "even"...

Qn reminds u to be careful..'cos the qn looks v v simple.
