I have read many threads on this one , but couldn't find the OA and no justifications for either (E) or (A) as best answer.

Experts plz pour in and enlighten me plz.

Somewhere it is written that "the devastation and enslavement" is considered as singular.

And "the devastation and the enslavement" is considered as plural.

Plz Advice !!!

This is quite a tough one.. I will go with E... IMHO "devastation and enslavement in the name of progress" is plural...
