Dear all,
At the site of Stern-NYU, GMAT-score is strongly recommended (for PhD in marketing et al), though GRE scores are also entertained. In many other universities and B-schools, both GRE and GMAT are given equal weightage. Could anyone specify which one will be advantageous--taking GRE or GMAT? does NYU give an advantage to the GMAT-takers over the GRE-takers?

All Schools take GMAT, some take GRE ALSO. Therefore GMAT would be better for PhD admission.

There are couple of schools that ONLY take GRE - for Operations Management concentration - These are Wharton and MIT. But these schools take GMAT for all other concentrations. :roll:

Almost all biz schools take GRE (for PHD, but this is not the case for MBA). And, for instance, Stanfords MBA now takes GRE or GMAT. So, there are many biz schools (most if not all) that take GRE for doctoral programs. I have found I do MUCH better on the GRE than GMAT. So, do some research and choose appropriately.
