I'd say A.

C, D & E are incorrect for omitting 'them' which is required to refer to the cows.

'Milked regularly' is not parallel to 'providing them' in B.

E. for can be used for "because" and "if" i guess.
if so, should not it be E, which is independent clause of if clause.

not very sure. correct me.

I between A and E.
A seems to have more sense for me. I also don't like the future tense in E...

E makes sense.

provided with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, Holstein cows will produce an average of 2,275 gallons of milk each per year For the farmer who takes care to keep them cool

A. "providing" should not modify "Holstein cows"

I think "providing" modifies "takes care to keep" an "provided" can ambiguously modify "the farmer", "them" or "Holstein cows". what do you think?

E would be excellent without "for..." part.

I am going with A: "are" is more better than "will" in this case.

(E) because the statement sounds conditional. If something someting (in past tense), then something something (in future tense)

A. providing them with high-energy feed, and milking them regularly, Holstein cows
are producing
"providing them...regularly" is a modifier which should modify farmers, however it is incorrectly modifying cows.

B. providing them with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, the Holstein cow
produces
We need 'cows' and not "cow" because underlined part says "them".

C. provided with high-energy feed, and milking them regularly, Holstein cows are
producing
"provided" and "milking" not parallel.

D. provided with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, the Holstein cow produces
We need 'cows' and not "cow" because underlined part says "them".

E. provided with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, Holstein cows will produce
Seems Correct.

Isn't the issue here of present continuous tense? and IMO A addresses it the best.

E for me.

C. provided with high-energy feed, and milking them regularly, Holstein cows are

D. provided with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, the Holstein cow produces
E. provided with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, Holstein cows will produce

This one is all about matching verb agreement. In E, "keep them.... cool, provided with..., and milked...." is the only consistent choice. Another thing to note is that this is a type of "hypothetical" question... ONLY IF and when a farmer takes good care of a Holstein cow WILL the cow produce an average of 2,275 gallons of milk per year. If you follow that logic then you will see that A alters the intent of the sentence by saying "Holstein cows ARE producing...". You can see that this assumes that the Farmer has already kept the cows cool, provided and milked yada yada yada.

Hope that helps explain the answer.

between D and E

choose E because " an average of 2,275 gallons of milk each ". Each of the cows

Cant be D

them is referring to cows and it has to be plural.

B & D out

A & C are out for "are producing"

E remains
