For the last five years the Dutch economy has grown faster than Britain, France, or Germany, with the unemployment rate having remained well below that of the other three countries.

A. Britain, France, or Germany, with the unemployment rate having remained

B. have those of Britain, France, or Germany, and the unemployment rate remaining

C. have Britain, France, and Germany, and the unemployment rate has remained

D. the economy of Britain, France, and Germany, with the unemployment rate that has remained

E. the economies of Britain, France, and Germany, and the unemployment rate has remained

I know that this question has been discussed many times,
but I want to make sure what's wrong with "with the unemployment rate" in D, a part that has rarely been touched.

If D changed like "the economies of B,F, and G, can D be the answer instead of E?

My guess would be a parallelism issue. If i simplified the sentences just to focus in on the part in questions, i get:

(D) The Dutch economy has grown faster, with the unemployment rate having remained well below that of the other three countries.

(E) The Dutch economy has grown faster, and the unemployment rate has remained well below that of the other three countries.

I would think that "economy has grown faster" and "unemployment rate has remained well below" should be properly parallel, which D lacks.
