So true dj!

I started yesterday calling people telling them that this is my last week, and everybody is telling me: "you couldn't have chosen a better timing for this!”.

Well actually I haven't really chosen it, and I think that most of us didn’t, we got lucky.

HAHA!!! I wish I could say that I had the foresight to choose this year to go back to school. Actually, if I did have foresight, I would have shorted every financial and consequently I would not be going back to school! It's an amazing stroke of luck that we applied in Fall/Winter 2007 because we missed the deluge of applicants in 2008, some of which were freaks of nature on paper and could have gotten in anywhere had they the timing that we did.

A month after my last day of work I am now thinking more clearly. I have also started my Chinese classes. With this in mind I suggest the following.
Just tell them:
我不喜欢你!
And walk out the door.

I am so bored at work these days. It doesn't help that we're in a change freeze and I can't do much anyway.

a week left for me and my replacement is already in trouble because he is useless. I think I will be missed that much more now.

my replacement is actually quite capable, so I think I'm leaving the group in good hands. Official date is less than 2 weeks!

My replacement is a good guy and tries hard, but needs a lot more experience to be truly ready.

You guys make me jealous.

My husband goes to Stern's PT program and has been commuting from Newport, RI (4 hours) but we are finally making the move up to NYC August 1 (or September 1). I'm currently looking for a new engineering job in NYC which is exciting but I wish I was going to school instead. Oh well, if any of you job leavers are civil engineers, let me know, perhaps I can fill your spot. I promise to be half of what you are so everyone misses you and let you know all the people who sandbag you for stuff not your fault once you are out the door.

Also, don't know if anyone has noticed but NYC needs some personal relation skill big time. Some of these engineering offices are just plain rude and they don't even know what I'm calling about. Any Entrp. out there need to start taking notes and creating a market for people skills asap.
