Four staff members at a certain company worked on a project. The amounts of time that the four staff members worked on the project were in the ratio 2 to 3 to 5 to 6. If one of the four staff members worked on the project for 30 hours, which of the following CANNOT be the total number of hours that the four staff members worked on the project?
By the way Nihit, even if you didn't know how to solve this question, you could make some guesses. This question is a good example of answer parallelism:
You will notice 80, 160, and 240 all seem related in some way. In fact, 160 is a multiple of 80, and 192 is a multiple of 96. 240 seems like the odd one out, so I would take it out.
Since they're asking for TOTAL, I would go with either 192 or 160.
I would only do this if:
1) I had NO IDEA how to solve this
2) I had less than 15 seconds to answer the question
