IMO - B vs D -> I go with D
A, B and E are out becuase of "but". But show contradiction. you do not want cotrdiction here
(A) but unemployment and prices too
But shows contradiction. We do not want contradiction here
(B) and also unemployment and prices
(C) but so have unemployment and prices But shows contradiction. We do not want contradiction here. Also have is wrong
(D) and so also unemployment and prices correct
(E) but so did unemployment and prices But shows contradiction. We do not want contradiction here
What is the OA ?

Need contradiction clearly. So, B and D out. E out because of DID Btw A and C choose A.

I needed a 'and so have'. Hence, between B and D , IMO B ---- 'so' is absurd in D Not sure. Wats the OA ???

Regarding, BUT SO it is assumed that regardless soared standards of leaving <THIS IS GOOD>, unemployment and prices have also increased <THIS IS BAD>. Hope it hepls.

From 1965 on, Yugoslavia’s standard of living has soared, but unemployment and prices too. (A) but unemployment and prices too (B) and also unemployment and prices(C) but so have unemployment and prices (D) and so also unemployment and prices(E) but so did unemployment and prices A new technique to crack this SC:Grammar: Two clause can be joined by the following ways: 1. Comma + FANBOYS (For, and, but, or, yet, so): => I am eating, and he is drinking. 2. Semicolon (;): =>I am eating; he is drinking. 3. Semicolon (;)+ Conjunctive Adverb +Comma +Clause. I am eating; then, he is drinking. List of conjunctive adverbs:accordingly, furthermore, moreover, similarly, also, hence, namely, still, anyway, however, nevertheless, then, besides, incidentally, next, thereafter, certainly, indeed, nonetheless, therefore, consequently, instead, now, thus, finally, likewise, otherwise, undoubtedly, further, meanwhile. 4. Period + Capital: => I am eating. He is drinking. Now, come to the sentence:After comma, there is a FANBOYS. So, we need a clause, and a clause must have a subject and a verb. OPtions A, B, and D do not have verb. So, they are out. In the option E, the verb "did" is not parallel with the verb "has". Answer is C.

(A) but unemployment and prices too (B) and also unemployment and prices (C) but so have unemployment and prices (D) and so also unemployment and prices (E) but so did unemployment and prices From... on, we need a 'perfect' tense. We need 'but' to show the comparison between standard of living and unemployment and prices (yes, opposite situations). B and D are out because they don't use 'but'. A is out because it uses but... too. E is out because of wrong tense 'did', should be 'have'. C is correct.

C looks like the best option here.. but i would still prefer having "and so have..." as answer if i had to use "but" then correct usage here would be like "From 1965 on, Yugoslavia’s standard of living has soared, but same cannot be said for unemployment and prices." or "From 1965 on, Yugoslavia’s standard of living has soared, but unemployment and prices have fallen."

definitely there needs to be a contradiction here.. "but" makes a contradiction in explaining that if something +ive has happened, then along with some -ve has also happened and this is best done by option c.

I struggled with Option C because of the usage of ' have' - Since it was followed by 'unemployment' it requires 'has' and not ' have'.
Still not very clear about this one!

Still not very clear about this one! It's a compound subject "Unemployment and prices", so "have" is required.
