I scored 420 on my first cold diagnostic last night, this gives me hope! It's going to take a lot of work and a small miracle :)

Congrats PS!
You are an inspiration. I need to rewrite after getting 530 on my first attempt but can't crack the 600s.
How long did you study for your third attempt, after getting a score of 510?

Great! I am happy that you received such an amazing score. After months of studying my GMAT score did not get any better than 320 :-(
However, I still have hope and faith and I know that I will get a good score the next time.

Your story gives me hope. I am struggling with the low score stigma after taking the gmat twice. I know I need to make serious changes, I will try to learn and apply as much as I can from your post.

Hi aroojk,

I'd like to know a bit more about the work that you've done so far:

1) What is your goal score?
2) What were your Scores (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores) on each of your Official GMATs?
3) How long did you study?
4) What GMAT resources did you use?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

@[quote="EMPOWERgmatRichC"]Hi aroojk,

Thank you for asking :)
My score the first time was in July 2014, I was working full-time and just didn't have time to study or understanding of how this works so the score was 320 I don't remember exactly but I think it was (V15 Q18) and I understood that time I didn't have enough time to study and didn't have my basics brushed for years. I took sometime after that to get my basics right and studied a bit, here and there. The second time was just now, on May 2nd I thought I had prepared better but My score was 350 (V19, Q22). I used Kaplan Premier Book to study I understand everything when I'm studying, I know I struggled with the time, my anxiety level was also through the roof. I know I have a lot of improvement to do. My target is between 550-600. That's the minimum I need to get considered for the program I'm applying for. Any kind of advice would be great. I'm not working now so I have time just to give to GMAT.

Hi aroojk,

Using your more recent GMAT scores as a 'baseline' score, you have some serious work to do to raise your score 200+ points. The good news is that your Overall score goal is reasonable, so if you can commit the necessary time and effort, then you could probably hit your goal with 3 months of consistent study.

Since self-studying with books didn't seem to help you too much, we have to look at other options. You would likely benefit from taking a Course of some type. There are plenty to choose from and most GMAT companies offer some type of free resources so that you can "test out" a product before you buy it. We offer a series of free resources on our website (www.empowergmat.com) so you should feel free to use all of them. The EMPOWERgmat Course is self-study, so you can use it as much as you like for as long as you like and when you're ready to stop you can cancel your account. It will teach you all of the content, tactics, patterns and secrets to the GMAT, so you can focus on the practice.

If you have any questions, then just let me know.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich
